The Power by Naomi Alderman is a novel that explores how the world might be if there were a flip in power and women were able to cause pain and destruction. Society becomes matriarchal, the opposite of today’s patriarchal society. This book does not attempt to paint a picture of equality, instead, it gives a warped insight into today’s world using opposites.

This book is an ideal candidate for a film adaptation, bringing the feminist issues it addresses to a wider audience. Over the course of this project, I have been producing designs that would fit into the narrative of a film adaptation of The Power.

Examples include propaganda material, journalism, and political campaigns. The individual stories of the main characters exude design potential in addition to the bigger picture of the worldwide shift in power
